
Wes Crowe, of Sense of Adventure fame, is returning to Canada after six months in Australia to again team up with Adam Shoalts on an expedition of exploration in the Canadian wilderness. This August, Shoalts and Crowe plan to venture to an exceptionally remote, never-before explored area of the Canadian wilderness. Details on their expedition to follow....

In May 2009, Shoalts hiked to the summit of Mt. Carleton, the highest point in Canada's maritime provinces.
Shoalts has been hired as a Teaching Assistant at McMaster University in the Department of History. He is working on a Master's degree at the university, also in history.
Shoalts has been awarded by McMaster University a Lynton R. Wilson Scholarship (2009) and a Graduate Scholarship (2009), both on the basis of academic excellence.
In September 2009, Shoalts is heading to northern British Columbia on an expedition to examine the legend of the Sasquatch.
Shoalts' short documentary, Unexplored Territory, about his expedition to a nameless river deep in the Canadian wilderness, can now be watched on-line!
Shoalts is having a busy summer presenting at schools, libraries, clubs, and other venues, sharing his tales of the great outdoors and showcasing his films.
This upcoming summer, Shoalts plans to undertake a major expedition of exploration deep into the heart of the Canadian wilderness.

In May 2008, Shoalts was named the winner of the 2008 Niagara Region Environmental Award in the Volunteer Category. The award recognizes the work Shoalts has done "increasing public understanding and awareness" through his Welland Tribune columns,and his "Reflections of a Naturalist"column for the Voice of Pelham, public speaking engagments in schools and elsewhere, as well as his work as the founder and chair of the Friends of Coyle Creek.
Shoalts has won Brock University's 2007-08 Niagara Peninsula Society (Archaeological Institute of America) Prize in Classical Archaeology and History. Shoalts hopes to lead an archaeological expedition into the Canadian wilderness sometime soon...
Shoalts was also named the 2007-08 winner of Brock University's Department of History Third Year Book Prize. In 2006, Shoalts was also named Brock University's Department of History's winner of the Donald Creighton Award. Shoalts is currently working as an historian and writer for the Business Education Council of Niagara. His articles on fascinating stories and colourful characters in Niagara's storied history can be read at Yourniagara.ca.
This past summer saw Shoalts explore an unnamed river in northern Ontario near James Bay---the first recorded exploration of this nameless river in history.
